The British Started controlling India in the mid-1700s, beginning with the East India Company and later the British government took over in 1858. During this time, India faced economic exploitation and social changes imposed by the British. The First major effort against British rule was in 1857, this mutiny is called the sepoy mutiny. This marked the start of India’s fight for freedom. /in the late1800s and early 1900s, the desire for independence grew stronger. The Indian National Congress was formed in 1885 to demand more rights and self-governance for Indians. Mahatma Gandhi became a key leader in the Independence movement. He promoted some protests known as Satyagraha and more. In such times Bruisers are boycotting Their goods and Institutions and Mahatma Gandhi urged Indians to stop cooperating for boycotting British Goods. Another movement namely the Civil Disobedience Movement. This Movement featured the Salt March, where Gandhi marched to the sea to make salt, breaking British Laws. After much sacrifice and facing many movements, India gained Independence on 15th August 1947. Every Year on 15th August we celebrate the Independence and freedom of Indian nationality.
